Thank you for the beautiful drawings - خوبصورت ڈرائنگ کے لیے آپ کا شکریہ
This story also happened a very long time ago. When the flood came over the earth, all people drowned, except for Noah and his family. You know that, don't you! You made such beautiful drawings with the ark and the rainbow!
But after that, a great many people were born. Noah's children had children, and they had children in turn. All those people were created by God. The whole world was created by God. God loved the world and the people. God, His Name is Yahweh, wanted to seek what is good for the people and bless them.
But once again Satan tried to tempt people. This time not with a serpent, but with a man: Nimrod. He was a great-grandson of Noah.
Nimrod was a godless man. He was a hunter. But he did not only hunt animals; he also killed people. Nimrod wanted to rule over all people. He believed that he himself was also a god. He made himself king, while God was the king of the earth. In this way, Nimrod thought he could rule over all people. He was an enemy of God. But most people did not love God anymore, they followed Nimrod as their king to Babylon.
A very long time ago, all people had one language. That is no longer the case. we know. You speak Urdu in Pakistan. I don't understand any of that. I speak Dutch. And you don't understand any of that. But Arosa also knows English. Do you know a little English? I think so. Because in the video you said to me: "God bless you". I know English too, and I understood your good words. But at first you said something else in Urdu, and I didn't understand that either. But in Babylon and everywhere where people lived, they spoke the same language. That is quite easy, isn't it? Then everyone will understand each other.
The people in Babel had devised a plan. They said to one another: "Come, let us make blocks of clay and bake them well!
We are going to bake building bricks from them." And then we will use asphalt (bitumen) and use it to mortar those bricks together. And then we are going to build a real big city!! A city with a veeeeery high tower. The top of that tower will reach heaven! Isn't that wonderful? And then we will become very important. We will also become very famous. People will become jealous of our beautiful city and our high tower. And then we will be the rulers of the world. They all set to work busily. Baking bricks, building, masonry... God had indeed said that he had a special place on earth for all nations. But the people in Babylon said: "No, we will stay together in the most beautiful city in the world, which we are going to build ourselves. A city of lust and pride."
The Bible tells us that God himself came down to see what they were doing there in Babylon. God knew that this was a plan of Satan, which Nimrod used for his purpose. Babylon would become much, much bigger. The whole world would become one big Babylon. In Hebrew, Babylon (Babel) means "confusion."
Then God said, "We are going to confuse their language. We make sure they all start speaking different languages." And what happens then? And then they don't understand what anyone else is saying. They don't get it anymore. Why does one speak Urdu, another English, yet another Hindi or Punjabi, Pashto or Dari? Many other languages emerged.
Just look at what happened then: Someone says: "You must build a gate with these stones..." The other says: "What are you saying? I don't understand you." And so he just builds a wall. The man who wanted a gate to be built gets angry. I told you it has to be a gate! Yet another says: "Where is asphalt (bitumen) for laying the bricks?" The answer is: "Talk normally, don't be so crazy!" That's how they all start fighting with each other. That way they couldn't finish the city and the tower. They didn't stay together either. They looked for another place in the world together with some people they could understand. That is how all those languages came into the world. That is why some of you are learning English, because there are many people who speak English.
Easy for children's drawings
