Do you know Who is God? کیا آپ جانتے ہیں کہ خدا کون ہے؟

Hello Kids,

I am grandma Ida from a far away country: Holland I’m here to tell you about God, like Arosa is doing. Do you know who God is? I bet you do. He created people. He wanted to have fellowship with those people, to talk. He wanted to make them happy and take care of them. He also wanted to tell them how to live in a right way. For that reason He created you and me. But we usually do not hear His voice.

He speaks in a different way. But when you talk to Him, or pray, He hears it very well. He likes it when you do that. He is always there. So if you are alone and want to tell Him something, or if you are sad, you can certainly tell Him. Even if you are lying in bed, or when other children are bullying you and you feel very sad. Then there is always the God who made you and therefore loves you very much.

You feel a little bit better after you have talked to God about to be alone. He understands every language! For He is much greater and wiser and more loving than people. Even more loving than your own father and mother.

God speaks to us through the Bible. He also once sent His son into this world. That son is called Jesus. He came as a small baby, for He had to become a human being in order to tell us about God. In this way, when He was grown, He could help people. He healed the sick, blind people could see again, and He could also heal people who could not walk. Actually, people called Him Yeshua in those days. But because so many languages are spoken in all kinds of countries, they started pronouncing His name differently.

God can also speak to people in a different way.  If you help someone who needs help, or comfort someone who is grieving, you can feel inside your heart that God is pleased about it. But if you take something that is not yours, then you also feel in your heart that what you did was wrong. We call that our “conscience.” The “conscience” is an important way through which God speaks to us. He Himself created that conscience for us.

You have surely seen and noticed that everything in the world is not always so loving and wise. When people do wrong things, God calls that “sin.” Sins make a person dirty. If we are being completely honest, we know that we, too, sometimes do things that God disapproves of. That happened even with the first humans God created: Adam and Eve. Do you know that story? Perhaps later we can talk about that together.

God later gave the Ten Commandments to the people of Israel. God had written those commandments on stone with His own finger. They contain the most important things we must obey (do & don'ts). We must talk about that again later as well.

The most important part of it is that we love God, because He loves us too. And that we must also love our mom and dad and the people we interact with. That can be very difficult, because things go wrong so easily. Then you don't feel comfortable, but we can tell God that. And if we ourselves have accidentally said or done something wrong, you can also tell it to God honestly.

He has long since seen what happened. He won't get angry about it. He doesn't blame you for anything. If you don't tell Him, He will actually become sad. We must not hide our wrongdoings from Him. He knows them anyway and you are staying dirty. But if you say you are sorry, He is very happy that you dared to say this to Him. Then He can cleanse you again. With what...? Do you know that? That is also a topic we need to talk about sometime later. But if you have said the wrong things to God, you feel clean again too. And God is happy with you.
