4. Cain & Abel - قابیل اور ہابیل

This story really happened is written in the Bible by Moses.
Do you see Adam and Eve walking now? Where are they going? They are sad and afraid. Before they ate that delicious fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they had never felt fear or sadness. They could no longer talk with God the way they used to, when He walked with them in the beautiful garden. Sometimes they felt cold, and they grew tired.
In the Garden of Eden there had been many fruits. But here… they had to search for a long time before finding something to eat. Everything was much harder, and sometimes they even argued with each other.
They remembered that God had told them they would die. Not right away, but they would grow old, sometimes get sick, and one day they would die.
One day Eve noticed that a baby was growing inside her. After some time the baby was born. Eve was in a lot of pain, and she thought she might die. But when she saw the beautiful baby, she was very happy. They had never seen a baby before, but they saw it was a little boy — a little man. Eve cried out joyfully, “I have received a man from the LORD!” She named the child Cain. After some time little Cain grew strong and began to walk.
Later Eve noticed that another baby was growing inside her. When that child was born, she named him Abel. These were the first brothers. They played together, they argued together — just like children today.
All people in the world will sin, because they inherited that from their first parents, who once ate from the tree where the serpent tempted them. Do you remember? The tree with the serpent. Adam and Eve are also our parents from a very, very long time ago.
The brothers grew up. Abel took care of the sheep and goats, and Cain worked in the fields. After a while, Cain built an altar in the field. The wheat had grown well, and he wanted to give some of it to God. He burned it on the altar, thinking God would surely like that.
Abel also made an altar and brought a lamb as an offering to God. And God showed that He was pleased with Abel’s sacrifice. But God did not show that He was pleased with Cain’s offering. Cain became very angry and jealous.
God saw this and asked Cain, “Why are you so angry? If you do what is good, you don’t need to be angry, then you can honestly look in everyone’s eyes. But if you do what is wrong, sin will try to control you. The serpent — Satan — wants to be your master. But you must be stronger than evil.”
This means Cain had done something wrong, perhaps only in his thoughts. Because if your thoughts are bad, your actions will follow. So we must never think wrong things. Satan tries to make you think wrong things, but you must be strong and say, “No, go away, Satan! I only want to do what God says!”
One day Cain and Abel were together in the field. They talked for a while. But suddenly Cain grabbed his brother Abel and… he beat him to death.
Then God spoke to Cain: “Where is Abel, your brother?” Cain replied, “I don’t know! Am I supposed to look after my brother?” What an ugly answer. If he had been honest, he would have been shocked and sad. He would have said, “How terrible that I killed him. Forgive me, help me.” Cain had never seen death before. It was not an accident — he chose to do it. That was his sin.
God said, “What have you done? Your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground! You must be punished. You must leave this place. From now on, you will wander the earth.”
Adam and Eve buried their son Abel. They had never seen a human die before. Cain was gone now too. It was his punishment for doing evil. Now they had no children left. How sad they were. They often thought about the beautiful garden where they had once been so happy. If only they had obeyed God. And now Cain had also disobeyed God.
But God had promised that the Seed of the woman would crush the serpent’s head. Eve was the woman; her children were her seed. But now her sons were gone. How could the promise come true? We know that one day Yeshua would be born from the Seed of the woman — but not from Eve herself. That would happen much later. Adam and Eve did not know this; otherwise they would have lived much longer. But Eve truly is “the mother of all living people.” We are all related to Adam and Eve — you and I too.
Later Adam and Eve had another son. Eve named him Seth. The Bible says that Seth became a man who often spoke with God — a man of prayer and faith.
This story was the beginning of the battle God spoke about in the Garden of Eden: Abel belonged to the Seed of the woman and Cain to the seed of the serpent. The end of this battle will be in the Kingdom of God.
